Case Studies

  •  Matrimonial Surveillance

Our Private Detective Services carried out covert surveillance on a married woman who was suspected of having an affair due to long hours and secrecy surrounding her movements/mobile telephone. It transpired, through surveillance and vehicle tracking, that she was in fact carrying out 3 seperate extra marital affairs with men who were all unaware of the others existence .

  • Fuel Theft
A Multi National delivery company were experiencing large fuel discrepancies. After a covert investigation which included analysis of fuel records 3 members of staff were found to be selling diesel fuel from their employer and selling it to local taxi drivers. They were costing the company in excess of £30000 per year and had been carrying this conduct on for nearly 3 years. A 3 day surveillance operation provided enough evidence for all 3 to face immediate dismissal and for the employer to apply for costs to be repaid.
  •  Employee Feigning Illness

Our client , an offshore multi national, engaged our services to investigate an employee who claimed he was injured whilst working on an oil rig. He alleged he was unfit to work due to the injuries sustained . We obtained evidence which confirmed our client's suspicions that his injuries were non existent . The case subsequently went to a tribunal, where, having closely liaised with the company's solicitor, we presented our evidence. The tribunal ruled that our client had acted fairly and properly within the terms of employment legislation and the case was dismissed. The estimated cost of his claim was £500,000. This amount was saved by the client whose only cost was two days surveillance.

Corporate Fraud

Our client was the Managing Director of a £15million turnover IT business, based in Stirling. He had suspicions regarding the integrity of one of his directors. We established that the director had formed a shadow company and was actively de-stabilising our client's relationship with customers. We also identified that a number of employees had been coerced into co-operating through fear and intimidation. We conducted a comprehensive investigation and gathered the necessary evidence to support a case for dismissal and mitigate any risk of reprisal. The company estimated that it had lost £3 million in turnover due to the rogue director.

Improper Conduct

We were engaged by a private client to install covert video cameras within her bedroom. She had noted that on her return from several weekends away, items were found to be missing or not where she left them. She started to question her sanity but after a two week period of filming the culprit, a family member, was found to be entering her bedroom and removing items from her drawers. The family member was confronted and admitted a series of events. He is now seeking psychiatric assistance.

Counter Surveillance

Our client, a high profile football club, after a spate of unsavoury headlines and news articles involving their players, suspected that their players were under close scrutiny from the press and media and were fearful of adverse publicity due to minor indiscretions. We conducted counter surveillance methods on the players vehicles and mobile phones and discovered one tracking device on a vehicle and evidence that another three vehicles had been tampered with . We now conduct counter surveillance measures on a regular basis with close contact with our counterparts in the local Police Force.

Theft

Our client a large national transport company were experiencing minor thefts over a period of months which brought suspicion on all members of staff and made for a very uncomfortable working environment. We installed covert cameras and after a 2 day period a cleaner was caught removing items from a handbag that we had placed within an insecure room. The cleaner was confronted, dismissed and faces criminal charges in relation to four counts of theft. There is now a much friendlier working environment and security measures have been revised.

Integrity Testing

Our client was aware that they were a potential terrorist target. They had put in place strict operational procedures to ensure that their premises remained secure. We were asked to attempt to penetrate the premises and report on our findings. This is an ongoing operation however we have already identified several areas which require to be addressed to ensure a robust security deterrent is in place.
